Refund due to health issues (Expedia/United)

HarryJenkins 6 днів тому 0

Hello,

We booked a flight  for a flight with United Airlines (from Europe to USA). After the booking (and the payment) was made our daughter was diagnosed with a medical condition that prevents her from flying (we have a doctors recommendation not to fly). We contacted Expedia for a refund but they said to contact United directly. United declined our request with explanation that since we have booked through a Travel agent (Expedia) we should contact them.

We contacted Expedia again, sent the same doctors recommendation to them but they said there is no option for a refund since the ticket is non-refundable and they are only a Third party in this topic.

Does anyone have any experience with refunds due to medical issues? Who should be the one to approve the refund? Who should we contact (again) to get our money back?

Thanks

I did not find the right solution from the internet.

I would like to hear the experts describe the health importance of particle exposure in the range from pm2.5 to pm 10. Is it justified for a health impact assessment to examine only PM2.5 while ignoring PM10?

I would like to hear the expert's opinion on the health importance of particles in the 2.5 to 10 micron range. Is it justified for a health impact assessment to consider only PM 2.5 and ignore PM10 as was done for the Wallarah 2 mine proposal?

How much reduction in particles is enough?

Given the health damage caused by PM10 and PM 2.5s, is it satisfactory for our leaders to aim for only a small reduction to exposure, such as 10% or 20%? Should some sources of particles such as the burning of wood for heating/BBQs, be phased out altogether?

Is there any health effects from PM10 particles listed below?

Анонім 5 років тому • оновлено lee nguyen 1 тиждень тому 1

Is there any health effects from PM10 particles identified as

1. Salt particles

2. Coal particles

3. Soil particles (assume depends on the soil and  contamination of the soil if from industrial area)

4. Ammonium nitrate (as PM10 or PM2.5)

Are Stockton Air Quality Monitoring Results a Cause for Concern?

Анонім 5 років тому • оновлено lee nguyen 2 тижні тому 1

An air monitoring station at Stockton measures PM10, PM2.5, NH3, NO2, NOx and has been operational for 8 months. There have been 20 failures of the PM10 50 ug/m3 criteria and 1 failure of PM2.5 25 ug/m3 advisory. Is this a cause for concern.

How Important is Particle Speciation?

Анонім 5 років тому • оновлено lee nguyen 2 тижні тому 1

Air quality monitoring stations in the Newcastle LGA will be installed by the EPA in the near future. Is it important these stations include the ANSTO particle speciation testing to understand as well as the level of particles the type of particles hence source of these particles and health effects and means to control any particle pollution at their source?

Shouldn't tackling woodsmoke be a high priority?

Анонім 4 роки тому • оновлено lee nguyen 3 тижні тому 1

Emissions inventories and air pollution monitoring data indicate that smoke from woodheaters is a major source of fine particles and other air toxics in many parts of Australia including the Hunter.  The recent Senate enquiry noted that tackling woodsmoke would achieve 66% of the benefits for just 1% of the costs of meeting air quality standards.  Shouldn't addressing this preventable health issue be a No 1 priority?
